0 to 100 km/h
Delivering 620 hp of power, the R8 Spyder V10 performance quattro is testimony to sportiness and characteristic design – that you’ll intensely feel, hear and simply enjoy.
Performance is an attitude.
Always a step ahead –
the epitome of performance
At the heart of the Audi R8 lies a naturally aspirated V10 engine situated between the axles. The performance variant delivers an additional 49 hp – bringing the total to 620 hp. That reduces the sprint to reach 100 km/h from 3.5 to 3.2 seconds and increases your potential top speed by 7 km/h, from 322 to 329 km/h. There’s also a clear difference in torque: 580 Nm can be reached at 6,500 rpm. The rear spoiler of the R8 Spyder V10 performance quattro made of carbon fibre-reinforced polymer sends out a clear signal of this impressive engine performance from the outside.
Power from the centre
The 5.2 FSI engine of the Audi R8 Spyder V10 performance quattro provides maximum torque of 560 Nm at 6,200 rpm. Thanks to the dry sump lubrication, the engine is mounted especially low, which greatly influences the precision with which you can control the R8 in any situation. The special firing sequence of the ten cylinders ultimately translates into remarkably distinctive acoustics. Accompanying you on your journey to top speed are a new 7-speed S tronic transmission with closely spaced sporty gears and an optimised quattro drive that provides optimum torque distribution at all times.
The suspension: precision in all its facets
In the Audi R8 V10 performance quattro, the springs and dampers are set firm. With the optional performance sport suspension with CFRP stabiliser, double aluminium wishbones guide all four wheels. Audi magnetic ride with CFRP stabiliser is available as an optional ultralight damping system that adapts the functioning of the shock absorbers to your driving style and to the profile of the road – in a matter of milliseconds for each wheel.
The power steering assistance is tuned to directly transfer your steering input and provides exceptionally precise feedback from the road. Available as an option, dynamic steering adjusts the steering angle based on the speed to enable extremely agile handling.
For reducing momentum, the R8 Spyder V10 performance quattro has carbon-fibre-reinforced ceramic brakes as standard. The brake callipers come in anthracite grey and are also available in red.
Form follows fascination – the design
When closed, the hood accentuates the overall athleticism of the Audi R8 Spyder V10 performance quattro in conjunction with wheel arches that exude power and flattened grooves over the Singleframe. Deep horizontal lines accentuate the width of the front end and give the R8 an even flatter and sportier look. The rear makes an ultimate statement about sportiness with its high mounted diffuser, the air vent grille that spans the width of the car and the oval exhaust tailpipes in black. You can opt to replace the standard 19-inch wheels with newly designed 20-inch milled wheels that are available in 5-V-dynamic design with three different surface options.
Interior: Focus and elegance
A large, contoured arch brings all of the controls together visually right in front of you, echoing the driverfocused design of a monoposto. The Audi R8 Spyder V10 performance quattro has bucket seats. The interior comes with seat upholstery in Alcantara/leather combination with contrasting stitching in Mercato blue and trim elements in gloss carbon as standard. Other colour combinations, such as seat upholstery in fine Nappa leather, Express Red stitching with rhombus pattern and contrasting stitching in steel grey or fine Nappa leather, black with contrasting stitching in Vegas yellow, complete the range on offer. Alongside carbon inlays, stainless steel pedals and footrests also come as standard.
The Audi virtual cockpit: all the information you need
The combination of MMI navigation plus and Audi virtual cockpit that comes as standard is designed to make all functions easy to operate, without you having to take your hands off the wheel or your eyes off the road. On the 12.3-inch display of the Audi virtual cockpit, the focus is on a rev counter around which other performance values can be arranged, such as torque, G-forces, lap times, engine and gear oil temperatures plus tyre pressure and temperature. There is also an additional button available for the Audi R8 Spyder V10 performance quattro that enables you to directly control specially configured performance programmes.
